More than science

Meet the people behind CanChip

Why replacing animal testing became personal, not just scientific.

Tumor-on-Chip • Human-relevant data • 3D microfluidics • Oncology validation • Fraunhofer-certified • No animal testing

The CanChip team in the laboratory: Ghazaleh Madani, Omid Nejati and Zhina Mazhari

We built CanChip

because the system was failing patients.

When Ghazaleh Madani’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, she experienced firsthand what millions of patients and families face every year: a system that moves painfully slowly, with treatments that work in the lab but fail in the clinic. As a biochemist, she knew why. The models used to develop cancer drugs are fundamentally disconnected from human biology. Omid Nejati had spent years in stem cell research and tissue engineering, watching promising compounds fail in clinical trials that should have been screened out years earlier. The problem wasn’t a lack of science – it was the wrong tools. Together, they founded CanChip with one goal: replace the models that are failing patients with systems that actually reflect human tumor biology. Not as an academic project – as a company that delivers results to the pharmaceutical industry.

Mission

Make cancer drug discovery faster, more precise, and dramatically less expensive – without relying on animal models.

Vision

To become Europe’s leading oncology validation platform – moving from custom study execution today to a proprietary human tumor-response intelligence layer that compounds in value with every program we run.

The people

behind CanChip.
